A car dealership is a demanding environment for a security system. The CCTV backbone of the system is built around Provision ISR S-Sight 8 megapixel cameras, a mix of dome and bullet models selected specifically for each area of the site. Dome cameras were used for internal spaces and smaller enclosed areas where wide-angle coverage and a discreet profile are important. Bullet cameras were deployed across the yard and larger open areas, where their long-range capability and directional focus make them the better tool. At 8 megapixels, the image quality across both camera types is exceptional: clear, sharp, and detailed enough to capture number plates, identify individuals, and document the condition of vehicles on the lot. In the event of a break-in or dispute, the footage speaks for itself.
For this client, CCTV installation was also a mandatory qualifier for their commercial insurance policy, a requirement that is increasingly common for businesses holding significant stock on-site. Having a properly specified and professionally installed system in place satisfies that obligation and can meaningfully affect premium costs.
Access control was integrated using a Bosch 6000 alarm system combined with iFob technology, giving the business flexible, layered control over who can enter and exit the premises. Doors can be operated remotely or via proxy reader, token, or keypad, depending on the access point and who needs to use it. This kind of flexibility is practical in a dealership environment where different staff members need access to different areas at different times. The self-monitoring capability of the alarm system means the client receives push notifications directly if the alarm is triggered, keeping them informed in real time regardless of where they are.
A commercial PA system was also installed throughout the premises, configured for smooth background music across the showroom and customer-facing areas. A well-designed PA system contributes to the customer experience in a retail environment and gives staff a communication tool across a large floor plan.
