Property Type: Residential | Location: Ringwood | Services: CCTV

This Ringwood property presented one of the more ambitious residential CCTV installations the BPoint team has taken on. Backing onto a golf course and spanning over an acre of land, the client needed comprehensive coverage across a large, heavily vegetated block with multiple access points, including a rear golf course gate, sprawling garden areas, laneways, and a front entry. A standard off-the-shelf setup was never going to cut it here.

After a thorough site assessment, the BPoint team selected Provision ISR bullet cameras throughout the property. Bullet cameras are the right tool for this kind of job: they deliver impressive long-range clarity, perform reliably in low-light and night vision conditions, and are built to handle the outdoor environment year-round. The client can monitor all footage remotely via mobile viewing, giving him visibility over the entire property whether he’s at home or away.

The most technically demanding part of the project was getting cameras positioned high enough to cover the rear garden and golf course gate effectively. There was no existing infrastructure to mount to in that part of the property, so the team engineered a purpose-built solution: trenches were dug across the grounds to run power cabling out to a custom-fabricated pole, installed at the optimal height and position to command a clear line of sight across the back boundary. It’s the kind of problem-solving that separates a quality installation from a compromised one.

From there, four additional cameras were installed across the rear garden to address blind spots created by the dense, bushy vegetation. Large established trees and thick plantings are common on acreage properties in Melbourne’s outer east, and they can create awkward gaps in coverage if camera placement isn’t carefully thought through. The team walked the property methodically, identifying every shadow zone and selecting mounting positions that would give overlapping fields of view without unnecessary redundancy.

Two further cameras were installed at the front of the property and along the side laneways, securing the entry gate and the often-overlooked side access areas that can be a vulnerability on larger blocks.

The finished system gives the client total visibility across all access points on his property, with reliable night vision coverage and the convenience of checking in from anywhere via his phone. The cabling is neatly run and out of sight, and the pole-mounted rear camera looks like it was always meant to be there.

For larger residential properties, a one-size-fits-all approach simply does not work. This Ringwood installation is a good example of what BPoint does best: assessing the specific challenges of a site, designing a solution around them, and executing the installation to a high standard from start to finish.
